  • 1906: Founded Nankai Sulfur Fertilizer Co., Ltd.
  • 1907: Launched the production of bleaching powder by the Leblanc process in Nezumijima, Wakayama City.
  • 1911: Launched the production of nitrate sulfuric acid in Minato, Wakayama City.
  • 1918: Launched the production of caustic soda and chloride by Nelson electrolysis in Kozaika, Wakayama City.
  • 1925: Established Tosa Sulfur Co., Ltd.
  • 1937: Renamed as Nankai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.
  • 1939: Merged with Nakayama Steel Works, Ltd.
  • 1951: Established as Nankai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. with a capital of 15 million yen.
  • 1959: Launched the production of sulfuric acid by waste sulfuric acid fuming.
  • 1965: Launched the production of high bleaching powder at Tosa Plant.
  • 1985: Strengthened the organization of the R & D Department and launched the development of organic products.
  • 1986: Changed the caustic soda production method from the conventional mercury method to the ion exchange membrane method at Wakayama Plant.
  • 1987: Launched the production of organic chlorine compound (intermediate)
  • 1990: Increased the capital to 207 million yen and newly established the Research Center.
  • 1994: Launched the production of a water treatment agent, polyaluminum chloride, at Aogishi Plant.
  • 1996: Newly established production equipment for 60% high bleaching powder at Tosa Plant.
    Newly established a processing line for chlorinated isocyanuric acid.
  • 1997: Completed a bulk production line for chlorinated isocyanuric acid.
  • 1998: Headquarters and Kozaika and Aogishi Plants acquired ISO-9002 certification.
  • 1999: Headquarters and Tosa Plant acquired ISO-9002 certification.
  • 2000: Increased the capital to 303 million yen.
    Kozaika, Aogishi, and Tosa Plants acquired ISO-14001 certification.
    Established Tokyo Office.
    Newly installed production equipment for poly-iron sulfate.
  • 2002: Launched the production and distribution of salt for general use.
    Established NM Salt Co., Ltd.
  • 2003: Transition to ISO-9001 quality/certification at Tosa Plant (including the head office).
    Spun off the R & D Department and established Nankai Chemical R & D Co., Ltd.
  • 2004: Acquired 100% ownership of Yamafuji Co., Ltd.
  • 2005: Newly installed production equipment for polysilica iron (PSI) at Aogishi Plant.
    Opened Fukuoka Office.
  • 2006: Acquired a 100% ownership of Fuji Amide Chemical Co., Ltd.
    Launched the distribution of glucosamine supplements.
  • 2010: Renamed as Nankai Chemical Co., Ltd.
    Spun off the Environmental Recycling Department and established NC Environment Co., Ltd.
  • 2011: Succeeded the businesses of the Sales Department of Fuji Amide Chemical Co., Ltd.
  • 2013: Nankai Global Chemi Co., Ltd. (SPC) acquired all the shares of Nankai Chemical Co., Ltd., owned by Nakayama Steel Works.
    Newly installed production equipment for sodium hydrosulfide at Aogishi Plant.
    Merged with Nankai Global Chemi Co., Ltd.
    Increased the capital to 454,139,200 yen
  • 2014: Introduced an energy-saving multi-pole electrolytic cell at Wakayama Plant.
  • 2018: Merged with Yamafuji Co., Ltd. and opened Kyoto Branch.
  • 2019: Merged with Nankai Chemical R & D.
  • 2020: Merged with Konan Sangyo Co., Ltd.
  • 2023: Fuji Amide Chemical,a wholly-owned subsidiary,was terminated to operate at the end of March,2023.
    Nankai Chemical went to public at the standard Market of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
